Now that looks like fun......Might be fun fitting and jetting it mind

Might be worth having a look around some of the thumper/ dirtbike forums for more info. Now there are so many 4 stroke single MX bikes there are a lot of bits and know how on dirtbike forums.....

Any idea what model it was off? I assume a WR or YZ450?

SUDCO are a good source of info and bits:

http://www.sudco.com/Carburetor01.html

TPS should be ok. Nowhere to plug it into your CDI and its only a potentiometer ( must find out why they put them on Carb bikes.....must be an ignition timing thing at idle or Wide open throttle or something like that think

Not a clue, but comparing the externals, it looks like sudco now list it - there's diagram off the front page here:

So is the plan to replace the stock CV carb with this thing and run a pod filter on it? Should be an interesting upgrade if you can get it jetted right.

I suppose that way you can then remove the stock airbox and the sidepanles so you won't have to worry about that dodgy rivnut anymore either.....

2 birds..1 stone...Nice

You really need to step away from "Evil-Bay" and put that PC mouse down!!!

Sod the flat slide carb...650cc motor has got to be the way to go. How easy/hard is it to fit? (heard its been done but how much cutting and shutting of your nice powdercoated frame involved?)

Gonna need carbs and an exhaust too but that would make the Goose a real toy...

SZR660 vs Goose 650 dyno challenge??

Well, there's a geezer having a bit of work done on the engine mount plates on his Goose to mount a 650 motor (the same guy who wants your SZR bodywork, actually). Apparently, it's only a 5mm shave off one side as the engine is only an inch bigger x and y. I'm in good contact with him now to update the website, and he's chucking pics my way as we speak - haven't put the pics on the site yet, but here it is:

And, whilst I'm here - I'll pop the pic of his current one in your thread to tempt you to replicate the paintjob Smile

Dr Big is much bigger, and much heavier. The DR650 is only about 10 lbs up. Admittedly, it's only a HP or two up as well, but DOUBLE the torque Smile With a carb, exhaust and filter I reckon mid to high 40s bhp should be within reach.

The original exhaust bracket is now in Will's highly capable hands, and once that's back, it's off to Norms after an hour or so of reassembly. Thoroughly excited now...

Caught a bit of a bargain tonight from eGay whilsty the Goose is getting the exhaust sorted at motorefurb. Incoming HID kit!

£30 delivered for this: http://www.hids4u.co.uk/h4-hids4u-slim-35w-hid-xenon-conversion-e4-certified-ballasts-c-44-p-1-pr-181.html

Fitting looks reasonably easy, and there's even a step through using a different kit on a Jap Goose site here to give me a clue.

HID kit is in, along with the new indicators. HID kit was reasonably easy to fit - plug and play for sure, but finding places to mount up the three boxes was a pain. Would be easy as hell with a fairing, but the Goose isn't exactly full of hidey holes...

MOT this week Smile

Oh, and I got a Goose shock for the grand total of £12.50 off eGay. It's going to be my first attempt at rebuilding a shock. I'm not even sure it's rebuildable, but at £12.50 it'll do as a spare.
